Benefits & Uses of Eye Pillows

When you place the pillow over your eyes you stimulate the vagus nerve (right between the eyes) which represents the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system. The light pressure triggers a reflex (the oculocardiac reflex) to lower your heart rate, helps to regulate your mood, and tells your body that it’s time to relax. In addition to using the pillow over your eyes, they also work great for use on other parts of the body as well.
How to use:
Drape the pillow over your eyes, or place on sore muscles. For a more spa like experience, put the pillow in the microwave for 20 seconds at a time or in the freezer for at least an hour prior to use.
