3 Surprising Ways to use Lavender
It is no surprise that we are obsessed with lavender over here (most of our products are made with organic lavender buds), and for good reason. This plant is the ultimate powerhouse when it comes to the various ways that you can use it. Besides the lovely fragrant smell, lavender is typically used to help you relax, boost your mood or even to help you get a better nights' sleep. Below are a few other ways that you can use the plant that you may not be aware of.
As a Salt Subsitute: Culinary lavender adds sweetness to any dish. Use it on it's own or with other herbs like rosemary and thyme to create a salt-free seasoning.
To Freshen Your Carpets: Fight odors and bacteria on your carpets by using a baking soda and lavender deodorizer. Just sprinkle the mixture on your carpets, let it sit for a few minutes and then vacuum it up.
DIY Carpet Deodorizer: Mix 8 drops of lavender essential oil to 1/2 cup of baking soda. Sprinkle over carpeted area, and let sit for 10-15 min then vacuum it up.
To Repel Head Lice: If you're looking for a safe, natural way to treat or prevent head lice, try a combination lavender and tee tree oil.
